Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar was established in January 1997 for advancement of technical education & development . To address this issue of Technical Manpower shortage and to usher into a new era of Industrial Development comparable to International Standards, the Punjab Government constituted Punjab Technical University (PTU) in 1997. The University was entrusted with the responsibility of developing the new generation of technical manpower that can spearhead the industrial development of the State. Punjab Technical University has been formed to be the grooming ground for the future Engineers, Managers and Researches. As of today, PTU affiliates about 380 Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Architecture colleges in the State that are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE. All Courses offered by PTU are as per the nomenclature and guidelines of university Grants commission that makes these courses university acceptable. |

All Courses of PTU are approved by DEC, distance Education council, IGNOU, New Delhi, the joint committee of ‘AICTE-UGC-DEC’ & Ministry of HRD Govt. of India. PTU is the State Technical University of Punjab state Government so all Degree & Diploma valid for Government as well as private job in all over India.

Mode of Payment: The Semester fee including regular examination fee as prescribed in the prospectus has to be paid by the students in form of a demand draft only in favor of “Registrar, Punjab Technical University, Payable at Jalandhar. The fee installment of the next semester has to be paid before the start of examination of previous semester as per the dates communicated by the University/ Learning Centre.
